MyHeritage's DNA test produces a raw genotyping file you can download and upload to other genomic-health analysis platforms. Here's how to get the file.

Step 1 — Sign in to MyHeritage

Log in at myheritage.com on a desktop browser.

Step 2 — Navigate to DNA → Manage DNA kits

Click DNA in the main nav, then choose Manage DNA kits from the dropdown. You'll see a list of your DNA tests.

Step 3 — Open the action menu for your kit

Click the three-dots menu next to your kit and choose Download. MyHeritage will explain what raw DNA data is — read it and click continue.

Step 4 — Verify and request

Confirm your password. MyHeritage emails you a link to download the file, typically within 5–60 minutes.

Step 5 — Click the email link

The link takes you to a confirmation page. Click Download raw DNA data. The file is a .csv (or .csv.zip depending on the kit), typically 5–10 MB.

File compatibility

MyHeritage uses Illumina chips similar to AncestryDNA — coverage is typically ~700,000 SNPs. Atlagene auto-detects MyHeritage format on upload; no manual conversion needed.

Upload to Atlagene

Create a free Atlagene account, upload the file, and analysis takes about 10-20 minutes. You'll get results across 20 health categories — covering everything MyHeritage Health didn't.

What if I imported a 23andMe / AncestryDNA file into MyHeritage?

If you originally tested with 23andMe or AncestryDNA and uploaded the file to MyHeritage, the original file is the better source — re-export it from the original provider. MyHeritage stores the upload as-is, but Atlagene's parsers recognize the original format directly.

Privacy considerations

MyHeritage retains your DNA file even after you cancel an account, unless you explicitly request deletion via their privacy team. Atlagene's policy is different: full deletion on request, no retention. See our privacy policy.
